Employers Workshop: It's Our Business, Make it Yours

2021 Employers Workshop

Check back soon for more details, when available..

The purpose of our Employers Workshop is to equip attendees with the tools needed to develop and implement a domestic violence policy that will protect victims and employees alike.  Do you know what you would do if a perpetrator came onto your premises and assaulted one of your employees? Do you know how to appropriately address when an employee shares with you they have a restraining order in effect against someone who is also an employee of your organization? Did you know that domestic violence costs the state of NC an estimated $308 million each year? A 2012 study, jointly funded by the Wells Fargo Foundation and the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage revealed those staggering figures. Do you know what domestic violence incidents costs your company? We hope you will agree that it is time to make it your business.

2019 Employers Workshop Sponsors

Thanks to all who attended the first Domestic Violence Employers Workshop held in October 2019 and September 2018 at the Foundation For The Carolinas.  Many of Charlotte's top employers such as: Bank of America, Wells Fargo, the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Harris Teeter, Coca~Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, Inc., Duke-Energy, Charter/Spectrum, CRVA, Rodgers Builders, Verizion Communications and more had representatives that came to participate and learn more about how company's, both big and small, can craft domestic violence policies to support employees who may be in need of this critical support.

Does your company have a Domestic Violence Policy?  We'd love to know if you do and would love for you to share it with us. We will be working to post some of the different ways companies are working to build their policies and bring awareness.
