JKFFC Billboard Unveiling
March 2025Charlotte, NC The Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage (JKFFC) unveiled a new billboard, in partnership with Adams Outdoor, promoting dating violence prevention on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The unveiling will occurred at 4899 S Tryon St, 430 ft S/O Woodlawn Rd (Billy Graham Pkwy), highlighting the Foundation's mission to Stop Dating Violence Before It Begins.
The event featured remarks from Adams Outdoor General Manager Julie Johnson; Associate Professor of Social Work, Associate Director of Research, Violence Prevention Center, UNC Charlotte Dr. Annelise Mennicke; Victim Advocate Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Violent Crimes Division-Cold Case Unit, Stephanie Escobar; Teens for Courage Board Chair and junior at Northwest School of the Art, Sophey Cherry; Teens for Courage Board member, sophomore and varsity football player at Palisades High School, Hudson Nolden; CMS Executive Director of Athletics Ericia Turner, and the JKFFC Board Chair, Simone Suber, emphasizing the critical importance of early education and awareness in preventing dating violence.
JKFFC is dedicated to ending dating violence through education and outreach, partnering with high schools and colleges to teach students about risk factors, healthy relationships, and available resources. The Foundation's signature program, the Teens for Courage Summit, is a teen-led initiative that annually engages over 600 high school students in discussions, activities, and leadership training centered around violence prevention.
