The Jill Dinwiddie Courage to Soar Award

The Jill Dinwiddie Courage to Soar Award given by the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage on an annual basis to an individual who exemplifies the qualities that made Jill Dinwiddie an invaluable asset to her community of Charlotte, North Carolina.   Jill's passions included reproductive health care, accurate sex education, preventing/eliminating domestic violence, and electing women to public office.  She was a nationally recognized advocate for women's rights. Jill co-founded the eNOugh campaign to raise awareness about domestic violence and actively involve employers, community leaders and bystanders for their role in prevention and support for victims. She was a devoted Board Member of the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage, and instrumental in the early years of the nonprofit guiding on governance and board composition, bylaws, and the hiring of the first Executive Director.

The Jill Dinwiddie Courage to Soar Award was developed to honor persons who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication.  The honoree selected should serve as a role model for compassion and service, and be striving to carry forward Jill's legacy to prevent and ultimately eliminate domestic or intimate partner violence. The recipient of this year's award will exemplify Jill's passion for a life in service to others, her strength in advocating for those in need, and her fun-loving spirit.
